Mission Statement

The Association is dedicated to fostering, preserving, and promoting the history, traditions, and growth of the Regiment as part of the “Regimental family.” It achieves this by encouraging camaraderie among serving and former members, supporting financial needs not covered by public funds, fostering community engagement, and assisting with the Regiment’s museum at the Halifax Armouries. The Association also helps strengthen the Regiment's relationship with cadet corps, raises funds for its objectives, and manages property necessary for its mission. By collaborating with the Command Team, Honourary Officers, and the Regimental Advisory, the Association ensures the Regiment's legacy endures and thrives.

Association Objectives

The Association is part of the “Regimental family.” It exists to preserve and promote the history, customs, and traditions of the Regiment, while supporting its growth and future. To do this, the Association will work alongside the Command Team, Honourary Officers, and the Regimental Advisory Board (RAB) to achieve the following goals:

  1. Strengthen camaraderie, loyalty, and spirit among both current and former members of the Regiment by keeping its history and traditions alive.
  2. Identify and help with financial needs or other support for Regimental matters that aren’t covered by public funding or other resources.
  3. Build stronger connections with the community and regions where the Regiment operates and recruits, by highlighting its historic and cultural importance, and helping with community events, initiatives, and volunteer opportunities for past and present members.
  4. Support the operation of the Regiment’s museum, which serves as a public space for preserving its history, traditions, and military knowledge, located in the Halifax Armouries—a National Historic Site.
  1. Help maintain and grow the Regiment’s relationship with any affiliated cadet corps, aiming to teach Canadian youth about service and leadership.
  2. Take on any other tasks or events that align with the overall mission of the Association, as agreed upon with the Command Team.
  3. Raise funds for any of the purposes outlined in these goals.
  4. Acquire property, whether through donations, grants, purchases, or other means, and use it to support the Association’s objectives.
  5. Buy, own, lease, mortgage, or sell property as needed to achieve the Association’s goals.

Description

A grenade Sable issuant therefrom a flame of nineteen points proper charged with the coronet of a daughter of the Sovereign Or encircled by an annulus Gules edged, charged in base with two maple leaves and inscribed PRINCESS LOUISE FUSILIERS in letters Or.

Symbolism

The coronet of H.R.H. The Princess Louise refers to the regiment's name. The grenade alludes to the original role of fusiliers, who were soldiers specially equipped to escort artillery trains. The red and white of the flames are the livery colours of the regiment and the official colours of Canada. "PRINCESS LOUISE FUSILIERS" is a form of the regimental title, and the maple leaves represent service to Canada.
